SUGAR LAND, TX, May 23 (MARKET WIRE) --

Power Company (Reno, Nevada), a subsidiary of Sierra Pacific Resources
(NYSE:SRP) (Reno), has completed construction on a $421 million, 514-megawatt
(MW)
expansion project at the Frank A. Tracy generating station in Sparks, Nevada,
and has begun start-up testing. Construction on the project started in May 2006
and was completed earlier this year. Full commercial operation is set to
commence
next month.
